Altura Park was sold to new owners on March 28, 2008 and as of March 21, 2009 is under new management.  The new managers are fully immersed in the day to day running of the gardens, wildlife/animal park, horse trekking and farm.   Added to the park have been their own pets, ponies, horses and birds. The focus is on further developing the gardens and animal park and horse trekking, as well as creating new activities to make Altura Park an even more enjoyable experience for visitors.

Altura Park includes a 20 acre animal park and 5 acres of beautiful gardens which are attached to a drystock farm of which has recently had a further purchase added making it a total of 680 acres. 

In 2005 the garden, with the previous owners, won the Garden of Regional Significance Award through the New Zealand Gardens Trust. The garden has beautiful trees and shrubs and provides the visitor with fabulous views of Mt.Pirongia, the farm and the Waikato.
